"1943" is a vertically-scrolling shoot 'em up arcade game released by Capcom in 1987. It is set in the Pacific theater of World War II, and players control a P-38 Lightning plane as they battle through various levels and bosses. The game features power-ups that upgrade the plane's weapons and abilities, and a two-player co-op mode. It was later ported to various home consoles, including the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).
